It is amazing how many ex-pats you meet in Phuket and Thailand who have lived here for years and can barely string a sentence together in Thai. I know a few long-term ex-pats whose Thai vocabulary is less than 10 words. The simple fact is you do not need to learn Thai to live in Thailand, especially if you are in one of the tourist destinations such as Phuket. Does that mean it is not worth learning Thai?



It’s easy to learn basic Spanish, you just have to know how to go about it! Spanish is a pretty close language to English, so it may surprise you to find that there are so many similarities. Every school in Puerto Rico teach you both languages Spanish and English but they focus more on Spanish and teach you English as the second language.



French is the second most taught language in the world only after English. French as well as English is the official working language of the International Red Cross, NATO, the United Nations, the International Olympic Committee and many other International Organizations. And France was the United States first ally.



Learning a foreign language has always been considered a daunting task, especially by adults who set out to accomplish it. But is it as fearsome as it is reputed to be? Why does something that seems SO natural to us as young children become such an insurmountable task in later life?
