The many different national parks provide people and the animals that live in these parks with a natural environment in which they can exist without any problems. An easy two hour drive south west from Darwin brings you to the expansive majesty of the Litchfield National Park. While Jiuzhaigou is a massive 720 square meters, you can feel the full force of the nature reserve on a two-day pass. Keep a keen eye out for the seldom-used paths veiled in vegetation located on the opposing side of the main thoroughfare in Zaru gully near the park’s entrance.

Denali national Park lies in the heart of a curved mountain chain about 600 miles long, the Alaska Range. In the McKinley massif area, the range is about six miles wide and is aligned generally northeast to southwest. This is the highest part of the range with many peaks over 10,000 feet high. Elsewhere in the range, the mountains are mostly between 7000 to 9000 feet high.

Well, if you have come this far you will be delighted to hear that Chobe National Park is not only the second largest national park in Botswana but also has one of the greatest concentrations of game found on the African continent. The Park is divided into four sections, the Serondela area, the Savuti Marsh area, the Nogatsaa and Tchinga, and the Linyanti Marsh.

Located across three provinces of Andalusia, the Doñana National Park is a huge wetland area and one of Spain’s most important wildlife centres covering a massive area of 1300 sq km. It is Europe’s largest national park and has been declared as a UNESCO biosphere reserve for its important role as a habitat for migratory birds, mammals and amphibians, and contains a wide variety of ecosystems capable of sustaining this huge wildlife community.

Mikumi National Park is the gateway to the game parks on the southern part of Tanzanian safari circuit. The Selous game reserve joins onto this park in the south and a short drive to the south west is the Udzungwa National Park – which was created primarily for the protection of flora rather than fauna. The lovely remote Ruaha National Park is a four hour drive south-west from Mikumi.

Arusha National Park is only a few Kilometers from Arusha and is a small but beautiful park set in the shadow of Mount Meru. There is a sting of lakes in this park and canoeing has recently been added to the tourist activities in this park.

South Africa has dedicated more than three million hectares of its total land mass to the conservation of its natural heritage. You will see a great variety of habitats and wildlife when you visit these amazing sites.

This park is one of Europe's largest fluvial wetlands, and a wondrous gift from Nature. This area of 1,300 sq. kilometers was declared a national park in 1969, and UNESCO declared it a Biosphere Reserve in 1971. It was then named a Human Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1994.

This park is sometimes know as Giraffe Park as it has in excess of 8,000 Maasai giraffe. The outstanding Kudu is also prolific in this park and when surprised this animal will stand as a statue, blending perfectly into the background. It has been known for visitors to the park to drive right up to the Kudu before seeing it.

One of the biggest parks in Southern Africa, the Richtersveld Transfrontier National Park was established through a treaty signed in Windhoek between South Africa and Namibia. This treaty meant that the border between the two countries was opened where the Namibian Hot Springs Game Park met with the South African Richtersveld National Park. The cooperation has resulted in the creation of a massive tourist attraction.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is located in southeastern Tennessee and borders North Carolina on its western side. The parked was so named because of the perpetual haze that lingers over the valleys and peaks that make up this part of the Appalachian Mountains.

In recent years the Serengeti had 100,000 visitors; in contrast the Katavi National Park in the remote and inaccessible west of Tanzania had only 383 people through the Park Gates. It is rumored that when a guest arrives at the park gates the wardens there are shocked and bewildered, so rare are tourists to this park. Here, in this park the only other people you will meet are other guests and the staff at the one [tented] lodge in the entire park. Here you have one million hectares to yourself.
