The Caribbean is crammed with delicious and delightful little islands bathed in the warm gentle waters of the Caribbean Sea, and long ho sunny days, but one of the least visited gems, almost our little secret, is the island of Cuba.
The nightlife in Havana City is very varied and it is located fundamentally in its nightclubs and discos. In these places you can enjoy really as much the Cuban music as the international music that is on, and many of these places throw a show that may include professional dancers and humorists. These places are disseminated around the whole city; however, most of them are located in the neighborhood of the Vedado.
Tradition and history are combined in the city of Trinidad, located in the province of Sancti Spíritus, in the south coast of the Cuban central region, at 370 km. of Havana. Founded in the early 16 th century in honour of the Holy Trinity, the city was the third village founded by Spaniards in the island of Cuba.
Cuba these days is a rather fashionable tourist destination. Tourists head out there, looking to enjoy the beaches, the wonderful weather, the diving and the salsa. And while all of these provide wonderful diversions for Cuba holiday makers, they are also often entirely artificial, created purely for the tourist market that invariably laps it up.

Cuba, beauty in simplicity, a haven, a paradise, an experience. One of the largest Caribbean islands, Cuba is all you can dream of and a little more. Endless sandy beaches, captivating culture, old-age architecture, friendly locals, delicious cuisine, it is a place you would not want to leave.

Recently, for the first time in over 2,200 years the seven wonders of the world were reassessed. Over 100 million people voted and decided that the Great Wall of China, Rome's Colosseum, Chichen Itza in Mexico, Petra in Jordan, Machu Picchu in Peru, Rio's Christ the Redeemer and the Taj Mahal would make the best new wonders.
If you were a celebrity, what would be your favorite spot to spend some time? Probably a place where you would find good service without being disturbed and followed by the press or the paparazzi. That's where Cuba comes instantly to mind, a place where public figures can walk the streets freely and enjoy the warmth welcome of its friendly people and the natural beauty of its landscapes; making this Caribbean island a privileged site to celebrities.
Taking time out from the everyday stresses and strains of life to visit an exotic place is something that everyone looks forward to. Cuba, with its notoriety brought upon by its government and the clamp down of the American government on its export and tourism, is a country known more for its cigar and its leader, rather than as a vacation destination.
Just before the New Year 2007 we (Liz and Andy, the Far And Further-team as we like to call ourselves) arrived in Gibara, a charming little seaside town on the northeast cost of Cuba, and we were invited to New Year Eve’s dinner by a Cuban family.
