When deciding where to go for your holiday this year why not consider Tokyo, it is Japan's largest city and one of the busiest in the world and with its stylish shops, boutiques and use of highly modern technology you will never be lost for things to do.



When you enter a traditional Japanese home, you go through a neat, latticed sliding door. Once inside, you will probably see a decorated folding screen. In the room, you may see other decorations, such as dolls, hanging scrolls with paintings or calligraphy, lampshades, fancy containers or boxes. All these varied items have one thing in common-they are made of washi-the versatile Japanese handmade paper.



While Tokyo and Kyoto are the two most important tourist destinations in Japan, there are several other interesting places that are worth a visit.



Hokkaido is one of Japan's 4 main islands and is located northern most part of Japan and when translated, Hokkaido literally means "Road of the North Sea". The island is a very popular destination for tourists on vacation holiday in Japan because of its natural beauty, especially during winter.



In Japan, Fall is a time of change and celebration, augmented by astounding natural beauty. The heat and humidity of the Summer begin to dissipate into a comfortable coolness as the leaves on the trees transform into burning scarlets and brilliant reds. Japan is very conscious of the seasons; the people there seem to change with them, including everything from their style of dress to the types of dishes they use.



Located on the delta of the Ota River on Hiroshima Bay, and divided into six islands by the seven channels of the river, Hiroshima is the largest city in the Chugoku region of western Honshu, Japan, and capital of the the capital of Hiroshima Prefecture, As of 2007, Hiroshima had a population of 1,159,391.



Look at Tokyo today and you will see what the Tokyo- jin (meaning Tokyo people in japanese) have that we don't have in our cities- bustling streets with thousands of people waiting to cross the roads, giantic television screens on the sides of buildings, high school students roaming the streets of shibuya after school and fashion statements made everywhere you go!
