Considering visiting Russia this winter? If so, you are going to need to learn how to stay warm in the legendary Russian winter. Alas, the Russians have come up with a fail proof strategy over the years.

Among the mysteries of the Russian language there is an expression “Sitting on Kamchatka” which in school slang, this idiom means, “to sit in the back row of the classroom, far enough from the teacher’s strict gaze.



One of the most spectacular and unspoiled places on earth, which attracts tourists worldwide, is lake Baikal, the deepest lake in the world. This lake is considered to have the purest and most tasteful water known to man. The water in the lake is so clean and clear that one can easily catch sight of fish some forty meters down (120 feet).



To many world-wide travelers seeking adventure, the Russian Far East is a very desirable place to visit, and of course if you are going to visit this region, you do not want to miss seeing the famous sea port, Vladivostok.



Moscow, especially, is a traveler favorite and a city high on my wish-list of places to visit as well. The heart of Russia, this capital city is the thriving epicenter of education, finance, culture, and more.



Known as “the Russian Versailles,” Peterhof near Saint Petersburg, Russia off the Gulf of Finland is a wonderland of beautiful gardens and ornate palaces. Incredible fountains cascade from gilded statues, just one of the features that make this conception of Peter the Great a World Heritage Site.
