Fort Caspar is located at 4001 Fort Caspar Road, Casper, Wyoming 82604. This is a reconstructed 1865 military post located at a major river crossing on the Oregon, California, Mormon Pioneer, Pony Express, and transcontinental telegraph trail corridor. Native Americans, mountain men, traders, emigrants, and the U.S. Army all visited or lived in the Casper area during the mid 1800s.
Just six miles west of Cody, Wyoming, is the Buffalo Bill Dam. It is the perfect place to stop off if you are on your way to the Yellowstone National Park as it is just past the tunnels. The park opened in May 1993 as a rest area and visitor center and was converted into the Buffalo Bill Dam Park.
Out in front of The Cody, Wyoming Chamber of Commerce is an enormous bronze statue of two cowboys shaking hands on horses. Cody and the surrounding areas are growing very nicely and the downtown district is alive with tourists and travelers who come to take part in the history of the Old West. The Cody Chamber has an interesting past in itself.
