Vietnam is located in south east Asia and borders Cambodia, Laos and China. Unfortunately the mention of the country Vietnam conjures up images of the war and its atrocities. However the reality is that the country is made up with enchanting natural beauty and peaceful village life.



Vietnam is known as an agricultural country with nearly 80% of population involving in agriculture and almost its farmers are facing difficulties. For many people, the current life is like a dream as compared to that of some years ago. The changes have been brought by an economy boom which is thought as one of reasons for wider gap between the rich and the poor.



It is difficult to express a full feeling when visiting markets in different regions in Vietnam especially in rural areas. Almost people are poor and goods sold at the markets illustrate that poverty. In mountainous areas, markets are held one a week, ethnic people have to walk miles on rough roads bringing with them rice, cassava, potato, peanut and brocade which are sold or exchanged for what they need.



Looking for tranquility, scenic landscapes, and plenty of fun activities to do? Visit Halong Bay in northern Vietnam where you can sail around the thousands of limestone islands, kayak, swim, enjoy the local cuisine at the many fishing villages around, explore caves, and more.



The story goes that one night the king dreamed that the goddess came to him, sitting on a lotus leaf. She held her palms out to him, and placed upon them was a baby boy, the new heir to the throne. Known as the “City of the Eternal Spring” for its landscape and climate, Dalat is a great destination to visit in Vietnam. Waterfalls, green hillsides and mountains are in abundance, while there are plenty of sites to see for those who venture out. Some sites are considered avant-garde, including a small Eiffel Tower, and the Hang Nga Guesthouse.



Recently, Vietnam food has been mentioned as internationalized words such as: Pho, Nem or Chung cake. One New York newspaper sees Vietnam as a "new Asia food star" which has high potentials to rank among top ten food over the world.

Vietnam is known to many people as a country of wars but she is a peace lover. Many American people wonder when visiting Vietnam if they are unfairly treated? This issue should be seen fairly, almost Vietnam people would rather look forward the future than look back damages by the war, thus there is no prejudice against American people.
