Italy has 20 wine regions. Each region produces a unique style of wine. Many of these varieties are so climate-specific that they cannot be transplanted to another region. That is why wines produced from each of these regions have their own distinctive aromas.



When deciding on a vacation destination, be certain to explore the Outer Banks of Currituck's Wineries. For a wine tasting vacation, begin your trip with a stay in one of the cozy bed and breakfast inns or a vacation rental. When you are rested and ready, take U.S. Route 168 to Currituck Sound Ferry to Knott's Island.



Luka Paskina, a wine-maker has come from Italy with the aim to bring his mastery to Virginia 17 years ago. He has managed to frame up to the local climate and soils. He has gained a lot of success and contrasted with Thomas Jefferson, who has had a complete washout some hundreds years ago.

The winery is an ultra premium boutique winery in the beautiful Snake River Valley of Idaho. Their vineyards were founded in 1981, which makes them some of the oldest vineyards in Idaho.



Last weekend, Doreen a friend of mine, and I whisked ourselves off to the winelands to experience some cape hospitality, enjoy some fine wines and take in the breathtaking mountainous views of the area, oh and of course to inspect some accommodation establishments. Our main aim was to keep abreast of what is offered to our clients when they visit the winelands.



Noble cultivars and classic styles can be found here. From superb whites like Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon and Chenin Blanc to Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Merlot. The Franschhoek valley's is also renowned for Cap Classique Sparkling wines and Ports. Most farms readily welcome visitors for tastings.



Southwestern Styria is only about one hour from my home town of Weiz and nevertheless it is considered a different geographic region from my home area of East Styria. Southwestern Styria enjoys a favourable climate with Mediterranean influences and the temperatures are on average higher than those in the surrounding regions.



Most tasting rooms are similar in the way they operate. When entering the tasting room, a tasting room staff member will greet you. Walk up to the tasting bar and say you would like to taste some of the wines. Some wineries charge for tastings and others do not. Occasionally a souvenir glass is included when you pay a tasting fee. You may have a choice to taste all the wines you would like on their list, or to choose a certain number of wines to taste, such as five wines.



The world is beautifully bedecked with lovely wineries, from the Adorni Vineyards in Mendoza, Argentina, to the Dez Capitans in Burgundy, France, to the Abbot in Napa Valley, California. Wherever you happen to be heading on your next adventure, chances are there’s a winery to be visited and some fantastic wine to be tasted.



Italy is, with 98 wine routes, by far leading the top list of wine growing countries. Being wine an enormous pleasure for our palates, it becomes always more important, and Italy has set up a real system for its wine tourism by connecting different kinds of institutions and guidelines of its wine routes.



When the hit movie Sideways came out, people all over the country were introduced to the idea that California wine-making doesn't begin and end in the Napa Valley. There are, in fact, several wine regions throughout the state including the Santa Ynez Valley where Sideways was filmed.
