A group of Dominican, Cuban and Haitian travel service providers have recently promoted multi-destination holidays in Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Haiti all around the French Antilles of Guadeloupe, Martinique and Guyana. The joined promotional endeavour focused on the natural attributes of the three countries which have been working extensively in a coordinated marketing plan to promote eco holiday destinations in their national territory. The list of entrepreneurs from the Dominican side which was headed by the economist Henri Herbrard, Executive Director of the French-Dominican Chamber of Commerce was integrated by Thomas Simonnet, from the hotel chain Accor, Smarlin Jimenez, from hotels Catalonia; Debbie Gomez from Occidental, and Doina de Campos from Turmaya as well as Sandra Penaloza from hotels Princess; Carolina Paulino from Coral Hospitality Corp and Denise Reyes from D.S.Tours. Some of these companies run hotels in Cuba and the Dominican Republic mostly. The trip included a group of presentations and business meetings with French Antillean travel agencies with the objective of encouraging travel to holiday destinations in Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Haiti. According to Doina de Campos, the countries involved in this initiative are looking "to target high valued market segments of travellers from Europe and the French Antilles". "Encouraging multi-destination holidays in Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Haiti is a viable strategy to capitalise on the diversity of attributes of natural zones in those countries in order to promote different products as a whole aggregated service which will be very beneficial for us all", she added. On the Cuba side, Valerie Herbaut, representing the brand Comptoir Des Caraibes was the one involved in the journey in which also took part Pierre Chau representing the travel agency Vet Agence Citadelle and Dominique Carvonis from the Haitian Ministry of Tourism.
