Balchik is located on the north coast of Bulgaria and is establishing itself as an up market location. Of interest is the Botanical gardens owned by the university of Sofia and home to many exotic plant species. The gardens are open to the public and must be seen on any visit. To the far end of the harbour town is the historically interesting Queen of Romania's summer palace. Set in in the pretty botanical gardens this is well worth a visit. The palace also has an interesting wine tasting room, this must be visited. Balchik centre has now benefited from the expansion in the Bulgarian property boom with many new luxury hotels. The marina city development is outstanding, providing new shopping opportunities, offices and luxury restaurants and hotel accommodation in this popular pretty coastal town. Many property developers are often searching in the area for potential opportunities further expanding the quality of properties on offer and enhancing the profile of Balchik. Best Bulgarian Estates are one company that offers development advice, legal and tax issues, planning and building services for property Balchik. The harbour has many private boats and boats can be hired to tour the rugged northern coast. The harbour is also set for expansion with 400 private yacht moorings. For golf fans there are three new championship golf courses to the north and the exceptionally clean resort of Albena to the south, Albena has the most beautiful soft sandy beaches and is perfect for family holidays. Further development has lead to the construction of a new cycle route linking Balchik with Albena and avoiding the need to use the busy coastal road. Balchik and the surroundings are advancing quickly and resulting in a desirable place to live and have family holidays. Ian Hunt |
