Cabo San Lucas, a beautiful little town located at the bottom tip of the Baja Peninsula, Mexico. The town is fairly small, with lots of shops, eateries and bars. We walked through all of the little shops in about a day without rushing. There are many unique items to be had and price is almost always negotiable. We have always loved the local flair and have never had a problem with the water (that is not a recommendation to drink it, though) or the local taco eateries.
One of my husband's favorite places to visit every year in October is Cabo San Lucas for Sammy Hagar's birthday bash at his bar, "The Cabo Wabo". He didn't make it this year but has been there 5 times in the last 6 years. All tickets are free for the Sammy concerts but he has to sleep in line, on the street with 200+ fans. It was a ritual in itself. The couple of times I went with him we either stayed right down the street within in walking distance or at a nearby resort. Its beaches are absolutely gorgeous with white sand and blue water. ! A truly relaxing and wonderful vacation.
One of our favorite activities is taking a boat over to lover's beach for the day. They drop you off mid-morning and pick you up later in the day. Many of the boats at the pier are available for hire and the price is right at less than $20. You can also see the seals about 1/4 mile away laying out on the rock formations. In addition they give a brief tour of the area. The captain explained the origins of the famous arch and showed us the rock formation that connects the Pacific Ocean with the Sea of Cortez.. On the other side is another beach and the Pacific Ocean (although swimming in not recommended due to currents). Many times you can see the seals laying out on the rocks about a 1/4 of a mile away, surreal.
