The capital city of Ireland, Dublin has something to offer every visitor. From out-of-the way hideaways to bustling tourist attractions, there is something to suit tourists of every age and interest. In an effort to make the city even more accessible to guests, Dublin offers visitors the Dublin Pass. Purchasing this not only allows tourists to get in to over thirty of Dublin’s most popular attractions free of charge, it also contains a detailed guidebook, free airport transfer and many other discounts and special offers that are sure to appeal both to newcomers to the city as well as those who are returning for the second, third or hundredth time. For those interested in the city’s history, Dublin’s cultural and literary heritage is greatly treasured and well-preserved. Gems such as the James Joyce Museum, the Dublin Writers’ Museum and even the birthplace of famed playwright George Bernard Shaw are all not to be missed. Malahide Castle is also well worth a look; a magnificent, meticulously-restored building, the Castle was used in the past both as a fortress and as a private residence. For a more contemporary taste of the city, there are of course many pubs and restaurants well worth a look, and the city has an exciting and vibrant nightlife. Walking tours are plentiful —one need not be a historian to appreciate the sumptuous Georgian architecture— and a quick stop at the Dublin Tourism Centre will furnish visitors with details of many of these. If you are visiting with children, there are plenty of attractions available to them, too. Dublin Zoo is considered to be the top attraction for families visiting Ireland, and something that is sure to delight all ages. Dalkey Castle is a sure favourite, and if you are visiting in June you may be fortunate enough to catch the Street Performance World Championship, featuring performers from all over the world. No matter what your age, interest or reason for visiting, there’s something for everyone in Dublin!
