The nightlife in Havana City is very varied and it is located fundamentally in its nightclubs and discos. In these places you can enjoy really as much the Cuban music as the international music that is on, and many of these places throw a show that may include professional dancers and humorists. These places are disseminated around the whole city; however, most of them are located in the neighborhood of the Vedado.

The Cubans are known in the whole world because here, the salsa music is made and performed; and for Cubans´ peculiar way of dancing, as they dance in couples or in groups of couples known as ruedas de casino. In Havana, very important ballrooms exist for all the people that love this music: the Houses of Music.

The Houses of Music are part of the Cuban Institute of Music and they were founded with the purpose of creating a space so that the bands and its audience were in direct contact. It is here where, most of the times, these bands throw their musical records and where they test its impact in the dancers.��

The biggest is in Center Havana, in a downtown street called Galiano, that is why it is known as the Galiano’s House of Music. Here, the best salsa bands of the country give concerts, so that all the dancers, Cubans as well as foreigners enjoy their art and share next to the bands a good time.�

This House has a big, very illuminated dance floor; the stage is in the front, where the artists are placed and in direct contact with their public. The artists can even have a conversation with the people who dancing there; around the dance floor, the tables are placed, so that in this way, when the party begins one can dance without difficulty; it also has a specialized service of waiters and waitresses, those who have everything set to your beck and call. You can have any kind of cocktails as well as snacks if you wish.

Every night is a different show, for what every night is only and unrepeatable. It opens up starting from 10 at night, and around 11 o'clock, the corps of ballet of the House shows some of the Cuban typical dances up to 12 o'clock, when the band arrives to the dance floor and put to almost everyone to dance for more than an hour and a half. Then, it continues with Cuban music until three in the morning. If you have not got enough with this and you want to continue dancing to the rhythm of salsa, the House has a smaller disco which stays open up to six in the morning.

A person cannot be in Cuba and not visiting one of these Houses. It is an unforgettable experience because you will have live the best salsa music in the world, and at the same time you will have the opportunity to share the dance floor with a very dancing people that love this kind of music. Every day, Cubans enrich this dance more with really difficult steps, but steps you can learn and enjoy.
