Lake Louise is a Canadian destination that’s great to visit in Autumn as well as year-round. Travelers love its plentiful hiking options and fantastic skiing, all enjoyed against the backdrop of the area’s stunning landscape. Australian Realtraveler Brisbird visited Lake Louise and the surrounding region as she continues on her world tour. She blogged about it last week: “The view from our room of Lake Louise was amazing. It is hard to believe the colour of the lake - a light turquoise. Today it is really cold outside - and as we looked up at the mountains, it looked like it was snowing!!! Not long after, as we were walking around and taking heaps of photos, a few flecks of snow start falling on us.” From Lake Louise they traveled through the Banff area, stopping on the way to see some of the local sights: “We stopped along the way at Johnstone Canyon to stretch our legs on the 1.5km walk to the falls there…along the way we saw fabulous views of the bubbling streams, natural flora and small cascading waterfalls. Joe spotted a squirrel and quickly tried to get shots of this slippery sucker as he zig-zagged back and forth to get away from us strange creatures in his habitat. At the lower falls, we have to duck under and walk through a small cave to view the crest of the falls. We are so close we feel the mist of the falls on our face. The noise is thundering and taking photos proves difficult with the sun shining on the water turning it a brilliant blinding white.” (more…) To plan a trip to this corner of Canada, visit these useful links: Lake Louise Travel Guide |
