Love me the Greek Island Life by sschott27

What could be more exciting then spending your Spring Break traveling around Greece? I know that’s how I’d love to spend mine, and that is exactly what one RealTraveler did. Accompanied by a large group of her friends sschott27 spent a week exploring Athensand Santorini from natural wonders, ancient ruins, to the wonderful cuisine! She got a head start on the tourist season by traveling in spring - you’ll get great ideas to head to Greece this spring or summer:

“At 4:15 we all caught the bus to Oia to watch the sun set. Oia is the most interesting city as it is built right into the side of the island. Most of the buildings are white. The pictures as you will see speak for themselves. We climbed around the city…literally…and then watched the sun sink into the ocean. We grabbed dinner at our newly located and quickly loved gyro joint, Lucky’s Souvlakis. That evening we all sat out our hotel balconies drinking local wine and watching the speedy clouds pass by.” (more…)

Apart from admiring the beautiful views which seem to be everywhere, sschott27 also took in some historical sights in Athens:

“We toured the Parthenon for probably a total of two hours. While the actual Parthenon was incredible itself, Elizabeth and I especially enjoyed the Erechtheion. Inside the grounds of the Parthenon was also a stadium as well as a museum which housed such famous works as the Blonde Haired Boy, the Calf-Bearer, and the Krios Boy, all of which we learned about in Humanities. From the Parthenon we visited the large rock just outside its gates where Paul is said to have preached. Athens in general was such an intriguing trip as we toured many areas in which some of the world’s oldest history took place.” (more…)
