“I really don’t know what to say about Switzerland, except WOW,” writes Stace, a RealTraveler from Melbourne who recently discovered the abundant beauties of Switzerland. Looking at her dazzlingly gorgeous travel photos of Grindelwald and the charming village of Iseltwald, it’s hard to disagree! Grindelwald, which lies within a lush valley on the northern side of the Swiss Alps, is a fairytale-esque resort town offering incredible skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer. Stace was awe-struck by the beauty she found here, catching fabulous views of glittering lakes, snow-capped peaks, and peaceful valleys. She writes: “Everywhere I look, I am overwhelmed with gorgeous views. The first two nights, me & Dave stayed in the cutest little village in Switzerland called Iseltwald. Where we were surrounded by mountains around a beautiful lake in the middle.” (more…) RealTraveler Steve Harding had a wonderful time traveling through Interlaken, the capital of Switzerland’s Burnese Oberland, and is known for its sparkling lakes, cute hotels, gorgeous waterfalls, and its excellent views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountain ranges. He writes about his experience here in his travel blog, Interlaken: “As I got to Bern very early in the morning, I decided to go straight to Interlaken. As I was on the train, I was passing amazing scenery of lakes and mountains. Once I got there I new I´d done the right thing, as this felt like real Switzerland (the Oberland). Mountains all around the place and old style log houses. It felt a little like a vibrant ski resort, with no snow.” (more…) Traveling as a family, Mom, Pop, and Eric experienced a cable car ride from Wengen (one of Switzerland’s best ski resorts) to Mannlichen, a beautiful mountain in the Swiss Alps. They highly recommend setting aside a day to experience the heavenly views from atop Mannlichen: “There are stupendous views from up here. You can look way down into the beautiful Lauterbrunnen Valley or you can look over the other side of the ridge and see the town of Grindelwald sitting beneath the north face of the Eiger. Or you can turn around and look all the way back down the valley to Interlaken and the two lakes (thus the name Inter-laken, or “between the lakes”). What surprised us was the fact that there were cows way up here strolling along and eating what little grass grew at these heights. We all asked the same question: “How did they get way up here?” The obvious answer is that they walked, but even if they took the foot path we were still about 4,200 feet above the valley. That was a steep climb I wouldn’t even attempt. So how do cows do it?” (more…) Enchanted by the beauties of Switzerland?
