Air Force launched an air strike on a LTTE leaders training facility located in UDAYARKATTIKULAM, MULLAITTIVU this morning (22) around 8.15am.At least 24 LTTE suicide cadres who are known as 'Black Tigers' and an instructor was reported killed and over 30 injured in the air raid carried out this morning (July 22) at the Uddayarkattukulam LTTE camp located in the Mullaitivu district.
According reports, today very early in the in the morning, a squadron of Kfir and MiG fighters took off after a briefing by their superiors
Their target was a well-fortified Black Tiger training base at Udayaarakattikulam, which remains heavily camouflaged.
This base is out of bounds for ordinary cadres. Only dedicated and highly motivated cadres and their instructors could gain admission. Males and females undergo training here. Their passing out parade was to be held by the end of this month, said a credible source from Kilinonochi
After they had their breakfast they were given a lecture by their instructor. Some of cadres were rehearsing committing suicide in the base at time of the air bombardment
At that very moment the jet planes flew over the area and flew down towards the target and dropped bombs, killing Tiger cadres and an instructor and injuring many.
LTTE is the terror outfit that pioneered the suicide bombing tactics to the world. The outfit has been using brainwashed youth, mostly women and teenagers to commit suicide as human bombs. LTTE select these youths from orphanages or recruit those who have undergone gender or cast discrimination promising them to redeem their dignity by dyeing for the cause.
There were also reports that LTTE supporters in Tamil Nadu had supplied scores of women to be trained as suicide cadres on payment of hefty amount to the families of those women who offered to be trained as suicide cadres.
