Beep Beep Beep Leighton awoke to the constant sound of her alarm clock...another fun day at wyckoff high school...great. She walked into the bathroom and started her typical routine: brush teeth, straighten hair (she had long dark brown hair that was naturally curly but she couldnt stand it and straightened her hair before anyone was ever allowed to see her), put her contact in (she was born with her right eye green and her left eye blue and she hated it! so she always put a blue colored contact in her right eye so she wouldnt look like such a total freak), found the perfect outfit, which today was a pair out light washed hudson jeans and a black flowy tank top with some sandals, and headed out. Leighton had just turned 16 2 weeks ago (April 4, 2008) and well, her parents were quite weathly, so she had received a brand new 2008 black tahoe and loved it more than anything else she owned. On her way to school she picked up her best friend kylie from her house. Kylie was also 16, but received a used mazda 3 for her birthday, and because Leighton's car was much better, they always rode in it together instead. Kylie had medium length blonde hair and big bright hazel eyes. No one knew how, but year round she had perfectly tanned skin, she had moved from Orange County, California 2 years ago, but the olive skin just never faded, even in the cold New Jersey winters. Today she was wearing medium washed holister jeans and the new white sweater from abercrombie kids ( because she was skinny enough to still shop there) Kylie: So how stoked are you for Sampson's Chem test today? Leighton: Haha very funny. I didn't even study, soo I'm lookin forwarded to the huge fat F Kylie: Ohhh sucks Leighton: Yeah no kidding, you're so luck you have Mr. Kennedy. He's the easiest teacher in school! Kylie: what can I say, it's just my natural luck. Leighton: yeah, whatever dork. They finally pulled up to school, parked, and headed inside. Kylie: See you at practice later Leighton: Alright, bye. They headed their sepearte ways for class, coutning down the minutes until they were out of there! *Later that day in 6 period (Cross Country)* Caitlin: Hey Leets! Caitlin was also friends with Leighton and Kylie, but she was 18 and a senior and WHS. Caitlin had chocolate brown colored hair and very very dark brown eyes. From running so much, she was very skinny but unfortuantly never really had a growth spurt and was only 5'4" (about 3 - 4 inches shorter than Leighton and Kylie) Theyd met 2 years ago in Cross Country because Caitlin was the school's star runner and Leighton and Kylie had just started and asked her to help them out so they could be as fast as her. Before they knew it, not only could they both beat Caitlin but the 3 of them had become best friends. Leighton: Hey Cait, whats up? Caitlin: Nothing much, wheres Kylie? Leighton: probablly already in the locker room, we should go find her, and I have to change into running clothes anyways. Caitlin: sounds good Leighton and Caitlin found Kylie in the locker room and they all changed into their running clothes and headed down to the track where the team would meet. Coach Callaghan: Alright girls, as you all know our big meet is coming up in one month from today and we have to be ready, so today we will be running a total of 9 miles, from here to the mall to the new movie theater and back. Everyone understand? Cross Country Team: yes Coach Callaghan: Alright ladies then lets start running! *Coach blew her whistle and all the girls got up and started running* To many, this run seemed far, But Leighton, Kylie, and Caitlin were WHS's star runners and this 9 miles was a piece of cake for them, and it was obvious to see because the 3 lead the pack all the way. At this point, the girls had run abouy 8.5 miles and were almost back to the school Leighton: How you guys holding up? Kylie & Caitlin: Fine Kylie: I don't see why you always try and make conversation when were running haha Leighton: Hey shut up! I'm just asking cause my ankle is on fire! I don't know how much longer i can keep this up. Caitlin: Hey just hang in there look we can see the school from here. Leighton: Yeah, I just think I'm gonna slow down and fall back a bit. I'll see you guys at the school Caitlin: Alright * Back at the school* Kylie: Hey Leets you okay? Leighton: Yeah, my ankle just hurts alot, I think I'll go see the nurse. Kylie: Alright, want us to come with? Leighton: Naw, I'll be fine. Meet me at the car in 10 K? Kylie: K *At the Nurse's Office* Leighton: Hi, um I hurt my ankle running today, do you think i could have an ice pack or something to put on it. Nurse: Sure sweetie, one moment. After searching for a moment, the nurse turns around and says: I'm sorry sweetheart I can't find one, let me go see if I can get some Ice out of the kitchen and well wrap it in a towel for you.
