Kool Moe Dee - Can U Feel It




From the 1993 "Kool Moe Dee: Greatest Hits" LP (Jive Records). This is actually KMD's least favorite career track (as for albums, "Funke Funke Wisdom" has been considered by him to be his worst), although I personally regard it to be extremely palatable lyrically. He throws in some delectable vocabulary, too. Here is an excerpt of his 1993 "The Source" interview, entitled "Mutual Respect," where he discusses his thoughts on the song: Chris Wilder: So, what's up with this greatest hits album? Kool Moe Dee: I didn't want to do that yet. Not only that, I literally HATE the single that Jive has put out. It's nowhere near where I'm going. They took my voice and make me sound like a God damn rookie because the flow doesn't go with the record. CW: I don't even know which one the single is. KMD: I'm glad you don't, and I ain't gonna help nobody. You got to find that. I'm definitely not with the project at all. I just think it's a guaranteed miss idea. Run-DMC's Greatest Hits made sense. They had an album in the works and all those hits that they had were mega-hits. I had some pretty big hits, but not enough to do a greatest hits at this point in my opinion.
