LLVLC On YouTube: Gluconeogenesis On Low-Carb (Episode 45)
Get ready to learn a basic low-carb concept today with http://LivinLaVidaLowCarb.com blogger Jimmy Moore and his wife Christine as part of their growing by leaps and bounds "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb On YouTube" series.
In Episode 45, Jimmy wants you to know about a specific metabolic process known as gluconeogenesis. That's just a big fancy schmancy way of saying that your body gets carbohydrates from the protein you eat through a process that takes place in the liver. If you want to know why eating dietary carbs is totally unnecessary, then you should know about gluconeogenesis.
Here's a link to a blog post Jimmy wrote about gluconeogenesis:
http://livinlavidalocarb.blogspot.com/2006/03/gluconeogenesis-body-makes-it-own.html
And Jimmy also recorded a podcast show about the subject of gluconeogenesis, too:

Remember, eating too much protein is as bad as eating too many carbs because of...gluconeogenesis. This is why it's better to fault on the side of consuming MORE fat, moderate amounts of protein and little to no carbohydrates for a healthy diet that will prevent the rise in insulin inside of your body. NOT GOOD!
If you'd like to get one of those snazzy T-shirts from the Nutrition & Metabolism Society with the scientific pathway of gluconeogenesis, then click on the following link to place your order:
