The purpose of this article is to review the top 5 travel destinations in the world. The destinations are ranked by National Geographic 2012. The destinations range from Iceland to Virunga volcanoes. Let’s have a look to these woderful places.

Iceland
Iceland is located on primeval landscape, Snaefellness Peninsula in North Atlantic Island. Iceland is a world of black sand beaches, silent white glaciers, and monumental cliffs, gargantuan fjords, knife cut valleys and thundering waterfalls. Iceland is still in the making because of the volcanic eruptions experienced now and again, and evolving landscapes which keeps on changing. The residents of Iceland continue to discover more on this country.
The country is more affordable due to the recovery of financial sector for the past three years. As a result, the euro determines the prices of consumer goods and services. A part from the physical features, Iceland has preserved their language for a thousand years thus, Iceland boasts of the oldest preserved language in the world.

Koh Lipe, Thailand
Koh Lipe is also called the perfect Beach. Koh Lipe is an alternative to Koh Phi Phi. Koh Lipe is only accessible through Krabi and Langkawi a Malaysian island, both places are accessed by boat.
The island is surrounded by pristine reefs and crystal waters. 25 percent of the tropical species of fish swim in the protected waters of this island. The beach in Pattaya is the most developed place in the island and a hot tourist attraction. Caster away resorts are also available in the island.

Dresden
Dresden is also called the come back kid. This term is used because the city has been reconstructed following the American and British bombing in 1945, that destroyed the city and killed thousands of people. In the 1700s, the kings spent most of their wealth in developing the city; as a result, the city was referred as the “Florence on the Elbe.” Currently, Dresden is among the top attractions for tourists in Germany. The city has the following unique features and landmarks:
– Historic centre with a dozen of top rated museums in the world, ranging from old master pictures Gallery to Albertinum, to hygiene museum in Germany.
– Church of Our Lady (Frauenkirche). This is a baroque masterpiece.

Istria, Croatia
This tourist place is described as the “on the Trail of Romance.” Istria Croatia has rolling shady hills and is located in the northernmost Peninsula. Istria Croatia has the following features:
– Malvazija, truffles white wines;
– Crumbling hill towns; and
– Olive oil estates.
Istria Croatia has 2,000 miles of bike trails. Along the coastal area, impromptu opportunities like snorkeling and swimming and sunny ocean views are found. Further, Rovinji town is very romantic due to a refreshing thrust. Champagne cocktails are mostly capped in the evenings in the Valentino Bar. This is the spot to nurture your Casanova.

Virunga Volcanoes, The Africa’s Fiery and Green Heart
Virunga volcanoes are located on the borders of Uganda, Rwanda and Congo. It is an eight chain volcano and one of the active volcanic places. Further, Virunga volcanoes are home to mountain Gorillas, elephants, chimpanzees and other wild animals. Virunga volcanoes landscapes represent the both Eden and hell in all the three countries.In the Democratic republic of Congo, Nyiragongo volcano beckons. Before you visit the Nyiragongo volcano, check on the security state because the country is unstable.
